LARGE-SCALE SOYMILK SYSTEMS FIT SMALL BUDGET
June 1, 2006 – Customers who aspire to produce the best tasting and highly nutritious products without heavy investment in equipment can now do so as a company in Bolivia is doing. This company has bought a VS1000BB system for less than half the price of a standard VS1000 system. VS1000BB has all the key technology features of the standard VS1000 system but soaking and moving the soybeans to the machine are manual as are the controls, and there is no okara rewash and soymilk chilling. Nevertheless, the product quality is identical to that from the standard system. This system is especially economical if one already has a packaging line or wishes to use a co-packer to formulate and package the soymilk. All ProSoya systems are designed in such a way that they can easily be maintained at low cost using local resources without bringing expensive parts and maintenance people from overseas. Even installation and commissioning are very simple as most of the system is pre-assembled on a skid. In addition, ProSoya can provide complete know-how and formulations for soy beverages, yogurts, desserts, etc., as well as on-going technology and product development support.

SOYBEANS TO TOFU CURD CONTINUOUSLY
January 3, 2006 – Realizing that making tofu remains to be a complex, manpower intensive operation, ProSoya has started to offer systems that integrate soymilk and tofu curding in a continuous operation. These systems make soymilk and tofu curd continuously from soaked soybeans with minimum labor input. All one needs to do is to direct the hose delivering the curd to the tofu forming boxes and press, and the tofu blocks are ready to cut and pack. For value added products, one need not form and press the curd. These Canadian fabricated continuous soymilk and patented curd making systems are made to 3A sanitary standards. The VCT2000, that can process up to 300 kg of dry soybeans per hour (600 to 750 kg tofu per hour depending on the firmness), is only US$299,900 including 3 soaking tanks and CIP. We can custom design and fabricate larger or smaller systems to suit your requirements. The curd can also be spray dried to make tofu powder.

SOYA WORLD’S EXCLUSIVITY NOW LIMITED TO CANADA
August 10, 2001 – Soya World Inc. of Burnaby, BC, enjoyed the exclusive license for ProSoya’s airless cold grind technology for making soymilk for several years for USA and Canada, but it has been focusing mainly to develop business in Canada. As a result, the company with the best selling organic soymilk brand SoNice, has negotiated with ProSoya to drop exclusivity for the USA. This deal is mutually beneficial since it reduces royalty burden for Soya World and allows ProSoya to pursue other options in the USA.

ALTERNATE SOYMILK TECHNOLOGIES
January 2, 2001 - As its new millennium initiative, ProSoya now offers medium and large soymilk systems based on alternative soymilk technologies to those regions of the world where its patented technology has been or is being licensed on an exclusive basis. The hot-grind non-beany soymilk systems using dry de-hulled soybeans or soaked whole soybeans in capacities 500 to 5000 L/H and above are now being built by ProSoya. The traditional cold-grind soymilk systems in similar capacities are also built to complement ProSoya's patented continuous curding and tofu making systems. The same engineering excellence goes into building these soymilk systems as in ProSoya's patented systems. The competitively priced plants have modular design and are skid mounted. As a result, ProSoya is able to ship even large systems within 4 months and commission them within a week or two. All ProSoya systems meet international food and dairy sanitary standards.

The principle is to recycle the energy required to evaporate the moisture by condensing using the heat-pump approach. Since extreme temperatures are avoided, the dried okara is totally free of scorched particles and suffers minimum denaturing.

CONTINUOUS TOFU MAKER RECEIVES PATENT
July 5, 2000 - A continuous tofu maker developed recently has been granted a USA patent. In this new invention, hot soymilk is continuously injected with a curding agent while it travels through a long tube to allow enough holding time to complete the curding. The curd and whey mixture exiting are fed to a vertical perforated column to separate whey and press curd into a tofu column. A cutter at the bottom of the column cuts it into tofu cakes of desired thickness which then enter a chilled water bath before being packaged into round plastic cups similar to those used for margarine and cottage cheese.

EASY TO MAKE SOY YOGURT
May 29, 2000 - ProSoya has perfected a simple way of making soy yogurt in commercial quantities with minimal additional equipment to ProSoya’s small or large systems for making soymilk. The great tasting soy yogurt is highly stable even when made with 8 to 9% solids in soymilk and does not suffer from the problem of developing tint on the yogurt surface with age. It can also be made into tasty soy drinks and frozen desserts.

The soymilk systems use the same patented technology (airless cold grinding) used for producing SoNice Soyganic brand of soymilk beverages which are considered by most as the best tasting product in the market. The smaller VS30/40 and VS200 systems are specially suited for producing niche value added soy foods and beverages. While VS30/40 has found use in restaurants, hospitals and school kitchens, VS200 is suited for larger production for regional distribution.

FDA APPROVED SOYFOODS HEALTH CLAIMS INCREASE DEMAND FOR PROSOYA TECHNOLOGY
June 20, 1999 - According to the FDA , 25 grams of soy proteins a day may reduce the risk of heart disease. Soy products containing at least 6.25 grams of protein can make such a health claim provided they are made from whole soybeans or if they are low in fat (2 grams) - http://www.soyfoods.com/healthclaimcos.html

This claim was allowed in the autumn of 1999, and since then, the demand for soy product has significantly increased. Consequently ProSoya has sold several VS200 systems to the US customers including one to Kraft Foods for R&D. VS40 systems have also started to sell now in the USA and Canada after their phenomenal success in Russia and more than 30 other countries. The INTSOY program at the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign has a VS40 system for training entrepreneurs through regular workshops – (contact Professor Karl Weingartner at kweingar@uiuc.edu). Also FTRI in Cairo, Egypt has a VS40 system for similar use – (Dr. Nabih Ibrahim at nlftri@internetegypt.com).

SOUP MAKING ATTACHMENT FOR VS30/40 SYSTEMS
August 19, 1999 - An attachment for the VS30/40 SoyaCow grinder/cooker has been developed that permits the machine to produce up to 18 liters of pureed soup every 20 to 30 minutes. You just have to throw into the hopper of the machine coarsely chopped veggies, beans, spices, etc., along with water, or any other desired liquid in appropriate quantities, and run the machine to grind and cook everything, yielding a ready to consume hot soup on tap. The okara and / or soymilk produced by the same machine can be used as an ingredient for the soup to add nutrition. The attachment is available for US$350 as an option for new as well as for most existing VS30/40 machines. The SoyaCow thus works as a soymilk and soyfoods machine or a pureed soup machine or both.

CURD SOYMILK CONTINUOUSLY AND AUTOMATICALLY FOR MAKING TOFU
August 10, 1999 - Tofu makers have long wished opening a tap and filling their forming boxes with curd for pressing. Such a system is now available from ProSoya Inc. at a price most tofu producers can easily afford. The sanitary CT1000 system is rated to continuously take 1000 L/H soymilk with 6 to 8% solids and coagulate it by continuously injecting the desired coagulant. The patented method can be scaled to larger or smaller capacities to meet clients requirements. It uses the velocity of slurry flows (not the Reynolds number) to optimize the curd formation. The soymilk flow is controlled by a positive displacement pump and monitored by a mass flow meter. The coagulant injection is controlled by a metering pump and a pH probe. The curd consistency and quality can be easily controlled. The yield is better than with batch type manual and automatic coagulators. The system can be readily adapted to the production of other gelatinous products such as ricotta cheese.
